Verse 7 is found in chapter 22 of Joshua. The eastern tribes return with great wealth and livestock after receiving their share of the spoils. The narrator emphasizes that they had obeyed Moses’ command and remained with their brothers until the land was distributed. The scene functions as a recognition of faithfulness. Although they live on the other side of the Jordan, their participation demonstrates that geography must not destroy Israel’s common identity.
