Verse 13 is found in chapter 6 of Joshua. For six days Israel marches around Jericho once each day. The priests, trumpets, and ark occupy the center of the procession, while the army remains silent. The repetition creates narrative tension and teaches a form of patient obedience: Israel must not improvise its own strategy. The silence of the people contrasts with the ritual activity of the priests and prepares for the decisive moment of the seventh day.
