Verse 15 is found in chapter 14 of Judges. Samson’s wife obtains the answer after crying and pressuring him. Samson provides the thirty garments promised after receiving the solution, but the Spirit of the Lord comes upon him and he kills thirty men of Ashkelon to pay the debt. He then abandons his wife. The scene shows the vengeful nature of the cycle beginning: a personal dispute progressively becomes hostility between Samson and the Philistines.
