Verse 15 is found in chapter 18 of Judges. The Danites set out armed and return to Micah’s house. They steal the image, ephod, and other religious objects. When the Levite protests, they offer him the opportunity to become priest of an entire tribe rather than serving one family. He accepts. The scene reveals how religious office can become subordinate to prestige, power, and political opportunity.
