Verse 15 is found in chapter 3 of Judges. Israel again does evil, and Eglon, king of Moab, dominates the people together with allies. After eighteen years of oppression, Israel cries out to the Lord, and he raises up Ehud, a left-handed Benjaminite. Ehud’s introduction already contains an important narrative element: a characteristic that might seem secondary will become decisive in his strategy against the Moabite king.
