And Gideon went in, and made ready a kid, and unleavened cakes of an ephah of flour: the flesh he put in a basket, and he put the broth in a pot, and brought it out unto him under the oak, and presented it.

Verse 19 is found in chapter 6 of Judges. Gideon presents an offering, and the angel of the Lord consumes it with fire. Gideon realizes that he has seen the divine messenger and fears that he will die, but he receives a word of peace. He then builds an altar called The Lord Is Peace. The name expresses that the divine presence, initially terrifying, can become for God’s chosen servant the foundation of peace and confidence.
