Verse 20 is found in chapter 7 of Judges. When the jars are broken and the trumpets sound, God causes confusion in the Midianite camp, and the enemies attack one another. Israel pursues the fugitives, and the Ephraimites capture Oreb and Zeeb. The victory confirms the purpose of reducing the army: the outcome cannot simply be explained by numerical superiority. However, tension among the tribes anticipates further internal problems.
