Verse 18 is found in chapter 6 of Nehemiah. When the enemies hear that the wall is finished, they recognize that the work cannot be explained solely by the builders’ abilities. Nevertheless, the chapter shows that physical completion does not eliminate every threat: the community still needs vigilance and must confront internal influences.
