That Sanballat and Geshem sent unto me, saying, Come, let us meet together in some one of the villages in the plain of Ono. But they thought to do me mischief.

Verse 2 is found in chapter 6 of Nehemiah. Sanballat, Tobiah, and Geshem repeatedly invite Nehemiah to meet outside Jerusalem. He understands that the proposal seeks to draw him away from the work and responds that he cannot abandon an important task. The scene shows a subtle form of opposition: distraction can be as dangerous as an open attack.

Porém intentavam fazer-me mal.
