Your carcases shall fall in this wilderness; and all that were numbered of you, according to your whole number, from twenty years old and upward which have murmured against me.
A verse can bring hope. Share this message of faith with someone you care about.
Verse 29 is found in chapter 14 of Numbers. The judgment upon the unbelieving generation establishes that the adults counted in the census who murmured will die in the wilderness and that their children will temporarily bear the consequences of their parents’ unfaithfulness. The forty years correspond to the forty days spent exploring the land. Joshua and Caleb remain exceptions among the spies and witnesses that faithfulness is possible within an unbelieving community.
Meditate on this verse and share your reflection or spiritual experience with the community. Your comments will enrich everyone's learning.
