Verse 22 is found in chapter 32 of Numbers. Reuben and Gad clarify that they will not abandon the other tribes and commit to participating in the war until Israel receives its inheritance. Moses accepts the proposal under this condition. The agreement establishes that possessing a particular inheritance does not free a tribe from its responsibility toward the entire community. The land received must coexist with collective commitment.
