Verse 15 is found in chapter 34 of Numbers. God establishes the boundaries of the land of Canaan that will be distributed among the tribes. The geographical description turns the territorial promise into a defined and administrable reality. The tribes of Reuben, Gad, and half the tribe of Manasseh have already received territory east of the Jordan, while the others will receive their inheritance within the boundaries of Canaan.
