Verse 13 is found in chapter 7 of Numbers. The leaders of Israel begin presenting offerings for the dedication of the altar. Although the offerings are similar, each tribe presents its own gift on an appointed day. The deliberate repetition gives importance to each tribal representative and expresses collective participation in the dedication of the sanctuary. Israel’s unity does not eliminate the particular identity of its tribes.
