Verse 2 is found in chapter 112 of Psalms. Psalm 112, also acrostic, describes the characteristics of the righteous person who fears the Lord. His stability is not limited to economic prosperity: it includes generosity, justice, compassion, and confidence in the face of bad news. The righteous person’s wealth is presented in connection with a willingness to share, in contrast to the wicked person’s desire to accumulate. The psalm ends by showing that the inner orientation of both groups produces opposite destinies.
