Verse 24 is found in chapter 18 of Psalms. Psalm 18 is an extensive thanksgiving for a deliverance attributed directly to the Lord. The opening description uses images of rock, fortress, shield, and refuge before portraying divine intervention through cosmic phenomena. The psalmist then interprets his deliverance in relation to his walk before God and describes how the Lord equips him for battle. The psalm concludes by broadening the perspective toward God’s faithfulness to the king and his descendants.
