Verse 9 is found in chapter 76 of Psalms. Psalm 76 celebrates the manifestation of God’s power in Zion and describes enemy warriors stripped of their strength. Weapons of war lose their effectiveness before divine intervention. The language of judgment shows that even human anger can be subordinated to God’s purposes. The appropriate response is to make vows and pay homage to the Lord, whose majesty rules over the kings of the earth.
