Verse 9 is found in chapter 99 of Psalms. Psalm 99 proclaims God’s holiness three times while developing his reign over the peoples. The Lord loves justice and has acted on behalf of Jacob, but he also responds to those who call upon his name. Moses, Aaron, and Samuel appear as examples of intercessors heard by God, although the text also recalls that God responded by disciplining the people. Divine holiness combines nearness, mercy, and authority.
