Verse 13 is found in chapter 14 of Revelation. A third angel warns against worshiping the beast and receiving its mark. The judgment of those who participate in the beast’s worship is described with intense images of fire and sulfur. Immediately afterward, the text contrasts that sentence with the perseverance of the saints, who keep God’s commandments and the faith of Jesus. A voice declares blessed those who die in the Lord, because they rest from their labors and their works follow them. Faithfulness is thus linked with rest and remembrance before God.
