And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God.

Verse 5 is found in chapter 14 of Revelation. John sees the Lamb standing on Mount Zion accompanied by one hundred forty-four thousand who bear his name and the name of his Father on their foreheads. In contrast to the mark of the beast, there is here a mark of divine belonging. The redeemed sing a new song that no one else can learn. They are described through images of purity, faithfulness, and firstfruits for God and the Lamb. The section presents a community that publicly belongs to God and whose life contrasts with the deception described in the previous chapter.
