For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.

Verse 5 is found in chapter 18 of Revelation. Another angel announces with great authority the fall of Babylon and describes her dwelling as a habitation of demons and every unclean spirit. A voice calls God’s people to come out of her so that they may not participate in her sins or receive her plagues. The reasons for judgment include her pride, luxury, and exploitation, summarized in the statement that she glorified herself. Her fall occurs "in one hour," an image of how quickly a seemingly invulnerable power can disappear.
