Verse 11 is found in chapter 22 of 1 Kings. Ahab and Jehoshaphat consider recovering Ramoth-gilead. Ahab’s court prophets announce success, while Jehoshaphat asks to consult a prophet of the Lord. Micaiah appears as an uncomfortable voice against the favorable consensus. The episode establishes a contrast between the number of prophets and the faithfulness of the word: a majority may affirm what the king wants to hear without necessarily representing God’s true message.
