Now therefore, I pray thee, hearken thou also unto the voice of thine handmaid, and let me set a morsel of bread before thee; and eat, that thou mayest have strength, when thou goest on thy way.

Verse 22 is found in chapter 28 of 1 Samuel. Saul falls terrified after hearing the message and initially refuses to eat. The woman and her servants eventually persuade him to eat before leaving. The scene ends with the king preparing for a battle whose outcome he already knows. The contrast with David is notable: Saul attempts to control the future through forbidden means but receives only confirmation of an already established judgment.
