Verse 4 is found in chapter 16 of 2 Chronicles. Baasha of Israel fortifies Ramah, and Asa seeks help from Ben-hadad, king of Syria. The king uses resources from the temple and palace to obtain a military alliance. Although he succeeds in stopping Baasha, his strategy introduces a political dependence that will later be criticized by the prophet.
