And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzzah; and God smote him there for his error; and there he died by the ark of God.

Verse 7 is found in chapter 6 of 2 Samuel. When Uzzah touches the ark to keep it from falling, he dies immediately, and David reacts with fear and frustration. The scene introduces a fundamental tension: God’s presence is a reason for celebration, but it cannot be treated as an ordinary object that the king may manipulate at will. The episode leads David to stop the procession and leave the ark temporarily at the house of Obed-edom. Divine holiness limits even well-intentioned human actions.
