And at the end of the days I Nebuchadnezzar lifted up mine eyes unto heaven, and mine understanding returned unto me, and I blessed the most High, and I praised and honoured him that liveth for ever, whose dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom is from generation to generation:

Verse 34 is found in chapter 4 of Daniel. At the end of the announced period, Nebuchadnezzar raises his eyes toward heaven and regains his reason. His first response is not to celebrate his personal restoration but to bless the Most High and acknowledge the permanence of His kingdom. The text presents the restoration of the king’s mind and position as the result of correctly recognizing the relationship between the human ruler and the heavenly sovereign.
