Verse 28 is found in chapter 7 of Daniel. Daniel concludes by stating that his thoughts troubled him and that he kept the matter in his heart. The final reaction prevents a superficially triumphalist reading of the vision. Knowing God’s final victory does not remove the emotional weight of contemplating suffering, judgment, and conflict. The seer receives hope while also acknowledging the seriousness of what he has seen.
