Verse 17 is found in chapter 8 of Daniel. Daniel seeks to understand the vision, and the angel Gabriel is given the task of explaining it. Daniel’s reaction again shows that symbolic revelation requires interpretation. Gabriel connects the vision with an appointed time and with events related to the end of a determined period. The expression “time of wrath” places political events within a framework of divine judgment and purpose.
