Verse 46 is found in chapter 32 of Deuteronomy. Moses and Joshua proclaim the song before the people, and Moses commands them to take its words seriously. God again reminds Moses that he will climb Mount Nebo and die there because of the transgression at Meribah. The section connects the testimony of the song with Moses’ personal destiny and the imminent transition toward Israel’s entry into Canaan.
