Verse 7 is found in chapter 32 of Deuteronomy. The Song of Moses begins by calling heaven and earth as witnesses. God is presented as a perfect rock, righteous and faithful, while Israel appears as a people who respond to received goodness with corruption. The poem reviews God’s election, protection, and provision to show that future apostasy cannot be attributed to any failure of divine faithfulness.
