Verse 36 is found in chapter 4 of Deuteronomy. Moses invites Israel to consider the entire history from creation to their own experience and asks whether any nation has heard God as Israel has. The exodus appears as an incomparable demonstration of divine power and faithfulness. The exhortation culminates in the affirmation that the Lord is God in heaven above and on earth below, and therefore his commandments must be kept.
