My heart shall cry out for Moab; his fugitives shall flee unto Zoar, an heifer of three years old: for by the mounting up of Luhith with weeping shall they go it up; for in the way of Horonaim they shall raise up a cry of destruction.

The verse 5 is found in chapter 15 of Isaiah. The oracle against Moab is dominated by images of weeping, devastation, and cities mourning their destruction. The intensity of the language allows the pain produced by judgment against a foreign nation to be perceived. Isaiah does not present the disaster merely as a political event, but as a human tragedy in which the prophet himself participates through lament.

Mon coeur gémit sur Moab, Dont les fugitifs se sauvent jusqu'à Tsoar, Jusqu'à Eglath-Schelischija; Car ils font, en pleurant, la montée de Luchith, Et ils jettent des cris de détresse sur le chemin de Choronaïm;
