The verse 5 is found in chapter 66 of Isaiah. The book concludes by distinguishing between religion centered on buildings and sacrifices and an attitude of humility before God’s word. Jerusalem will experience labor pains and then consolation, while Yahweh will gather the nations to behold his glory. The ending combines judgment and universal mission, concluding with a solemn image of those who remain under divine judgment and closing Isaiah with a strong tension between new creation, worship, and judgment.
