The verse 25 is found in chapter 32 of Jeremiah. Jeremiah prays after purchasing the field and recalls creation, the exodus, and the history of rebellion. God confirms that he will give Jerusalem over because of its sins, but also promises to gather the people, give them one heart, and establish an everlasting covenant. The purchased property thus becomes a sign of restoration that will come after judgment.
