Verse 14 is found in chapter 23 of Joshua. Joshua states that he is about to die and declares that not one of God’s good promises has failed. Yet the same divine faithfulness that guarantees the promises of blessing also guarantees the warnings of judgment if Israel abandons the covenant. The passage presents a coherent theology of the divine word: God is faithful both when He grants what He promised and when He carries out the announced consequences.
