Neither did Asher drive out the inhabitants of Accho, nor the inhabitants of Zidon, nor of Ahlab, nor of Achzib, nor of Helbah, nor of Aphik, nor of Rehob:

Verse 31 is found in chapter 1 of Judges. Manasseh, Ephraim, Zebulun, Asher, Naphtali, and Dan also fail to completely drive out the local inhabitants. Some Canaanites are subjected to forced labor, while others remain in the land. The summary explains the situation that will dominate the rest of the book: Israel lives alongside peoples it was supposed to displace. This coexistence will become a constant source of conflicts over identity and faithfulness.

Asser vertrieb die Einwohner zu Akko nicht noch die Einwohner zu Sidon, zu Ahelab, zu Achsib, zu Helba, zu Aphik und zu Rehob;
Aser ne chassa point les habitants d'Acco, ni les habitants de Sidon, ni ceux d'Achlal, d'Aczib, de Helba, d'Aphik et de Rehob;
Aser non iscacciò gli abitanti di Acco, nè gli abitanti di Sidon, nè di Alab, nè di Aczib, nè di Helba, nè di Afic, nè di Rehob.
Tampouco Aser expulsou os moradores de Aco, nem os moradores de Sidom; como nem de Alabe, nem de Aczibe, nem de Helba, nem de Afeque, nem de Reobe;
