Verse 8 is found in chapter 12 of Numbers. Miriam and Aaron challenge Moses, and the conflict leads to a divine affirmation of the uniqueness of his prophetic relationship with God. Miriam is afflicted with leprosy and Aaron acknowledges the sin, while Moses intercedes for her. The episode combines prophetic authority, discipline, and mercy.
