Verse 14 is found in chapter 16 of Numbers. Korah, together with Dathan and Abiram, challenges the authority of Moses and Aaron. Their argument uses the holiness of the entire congregation to question the priestly distinction. Moses responds by proposing a test through which God will determine whom he has chosen. The conflict reveals how a partial truth about Israel’s holiness can be used to challenge responsibilities that God himself established.
