Verse 10 is found in chapter 9 of Numbers. Israel celebrates Passover in the wilderness according to the command received. Some men temporarily prevented by ritual impurity consult Moses, and God establishes a second opportunity for those unable to celebrate Passover at the normal time. The legislation shows that the memory of the exodus remains fundamental during the journey and that participation in it must retain a holy order.
