Verse 19 is found in chapter 31 of Psalms. Psalm 31 combines trust, lament, and personal surrender in an extended prayer. God is rock, fortress, and refuge, while the psalmist describes illness, social rejection, and persecution. The surrender of his spirit expresses radical trust in divine hands. Toward the end, the individual experience becomes communal teaching: loving the Lord and taking courage means remaining firm because God preserves those who wait for him.
