Verse 7 is found in chapter 5 of Hosea. The accusation is directed at the priests, the house of Israel, and the house of the king because all have contributed to leading the people astray. Mizpah and Tabor, strategic locations, become images of an extensive network of corruption. Israel has fathered illegitimate children in a spiritual sense and abandoned the Lord. Judgment is approaching because unfaithfulness is no longer accidental, but structural.
