The verse 8 is found in chapter 65 of Isaiah. God responds by showing that he was found by those who did not seek him, while Israel persisted in rebellion. Judgment against idolatry is contrasted with the preservation of God’s servants. Then comes the vision of new heavens and a new earth, where premature death, injustice, and suffering are radically transformed and creation is characterized by peace.
