The verse 12 is found in chapter 40 of Jeremiah. Nebuzaradan releases Jeremiah and allows him to choose his destination. The prophet remains with the poor who were left in Judah and later goes to Mizpah. The account presents a surprising reversal: the leaders of Jerusalem are deported, while those who had been overlooked receive an opportunity to rebuild.
