The verse 41 is found in chapter 51 of Jeremiah. The comparison of Babylon with a threshing floor announces that it will be trampled and reduced. Israel may say that Babylon devoured it, but God promises to avenge its cause. Bel will be judged and the peoples will no longer go to him, showing that Babylon’s political judgment also entails the collapse of its religious system.
