Verse 25 is found in chapter 7 of Joshua. Achan confesses that he took a robe, silver, and gold after seeing and coveting them. The sequence "I saw... I coveted... I took" exposes the internal process that leads to transgression. The objects are found hidden in his tent, and judgment reaches Achan and the elements associated with his offense. The episode explains Ai’s defeat theologically and shows that the prosperity of conquest cannot become individual appropriation of what God had reserved.
