The city possesses the glory of God and a great wall with twelve gates, each associated with a tribe of Israel, and twelve foundations associated with the apostles of the Lamb. The architecture symbolizes continuity and fullness of God’s people: the twelve tribes and twelve apostles appear integrated into the eschatological city.
