As for these four children, God gave them knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom: and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams.
A verse can bring hope. Share this message of faith with someone you care about.
Verse 17 is found in chapter 1 of Daniel. God grants the four young men knowledge and intellectual ability, while Daniel receives additional understanding of visions and dreams. The source of their wisdom is therefore clearly connected to God rather than simply to their court training. The chapter’s conclusion also emphasizes Daniel’s endurance through different rulers, anticipating one of the book’s major themes: empires change, but God’s faithfulness remains.
