Say ye unto your brethren, Ammi; and to your sisters, Ruhamah.
A verse can bring hope. Share this message of faith with someone you care about.
Verse 1 is found in chapter 2 of Hosea. The names of the children are transformed through a new formula of hope: "Ammi" and "Ruhamah". The reversal shows that covenant judgment does not eliminate the possibility of restoration. At the same time, the exhortation to recognize unfaithfulness and turn away from it preserves the marital language. Israel must abandon the conduct that destroyed the relationship before fully experiencing the announced restoration.

Decid a vuestros hermanos, Ammi, y vuestras hermanas, Ruhama:
Digan a sus hermanos: «Ammi», y a sus hermanas: «Ruhama».
DIZEI a vossos irmãos: Ami; e a vossas irmãs: Ruama.
