Verse 14 is found in chapter 91 of Psalms. Psalm 91 develops the security of one who dwells under the protection of the Most High. Images of refuge, wings, shield, pestilence, nighttime terror, and military danger encompass different forms of threat. The promise should not be reduced to a guarantee of freedom from suffering, but understood as a declaration that God remains protector and sovereign in the midst of danger. The final section presents God personally responding to the one who loves and calls upon him.
