Now the Philistines gathered together all their armies to Aphek: and the Israelites pitched by a fountain which is in Jezreel.
A verse can bring hope. Share this message of faith with someone you care about.
Verse 1 is found in chapter 29 of 1 Samuel. The Philistine commanders observe David within Achish’s army and question his presence. Achish trusts David and states that he has found no fault in him since his arrival. However, the commanders remember his previous victories over the Philistines and demand that he be sent back. Providence again acts through political circumstances: David is removed from a battle against Israel in which his presence would have created an extremely complex situation.
